"superpressing" nonce

...Mastermind, who has been using his power for illusions to create mass hysteria and to control the US government to his own ends, as well as superpressing the powers of the Sentry, who believes if he intervenes on Earth, he will destroy it.
discussion of comic book movies

I stumbled upon this one a few hours ago. This was the only example of this substitution (“superpressing” for “suppressing”) I could find; searching under “superpress a laugh” produced no hits. I can see an eggcornish meaning connection here; supressing could be seen as “super-pressing”, i.e., keeping something down by pressing really hard on it. But I have no way of knowing what the perp’s thought process was. Maybe just a WTF typo? Maybe a seed that’ll grow into an actual eggcorn with further use? Dunno.

Re: "superpressing" nonce

When something is sub-pressed (pressed down) the pressure is coming from on high (the super-ior region).

It would be fun if this one did catch on.

(Possible Corollary: it is, and we are .)
