massectomy << mastectomy

I heard someone talking today about a “massectomy” that a friend had. It should be, of course, “mastectomy,” from μασθός, the Greek word for “breast.” “Massectomy,” though, is an appropriate replacement — mastectomies are usually done to remove cancerous masses.

No need to filter examples here. Almost every hit on a Google search for “massectomy” is a result of this confusion. There appear to be thousands of web pages with this eggcorn.
