One can, of course, bait an interlocutor by asking annoying questions. You can also entice (bait) someoen into debate with a good question. Since many people don’t understand what it means to beg a question, it’s easy to run all these activities together. (note- the database already has ‘beckon the question’). About 300 ghits:
