Pretentious Airs>>Pretentious Heirs
English
I first came across this usage in student papers, but a quick google search turned up more occurrences of the phrase used to replace “pretentious airs” than I expected. One or two of the entries correctly used to the phrase to refer to future generations. The students usages, however, most often were connected with past generations and status. As in “she is comfortable with herself and her origins, while Dee puts on pretentious heirs and the facade of a different person,” where Dee is, in essence, seeking to establish a more prestigious genealogy (forebearers, rather than heirs). Dee is pretentious, ironically.
Examples:
“Others have continued forward, only to find themselves bumped from the limelight of the masses by the pretentious heirs of record companies that are now slave to the mighty dollar.”

or
“I discovered that it is a little trying to find a simple black flip-flop with no pretentious heirs about it”

This does not have the context of the previous examples, but is amusing.
or
“Ninja III: The Domination is a fun 80s popcorn flick made for sheer entertainment value, without any of the pretentious heirs of seriousness about it.”
