peon -> pee on

I just discovered this one in an online conversation with a friend. He’s looking for a job and said that even if he couldn’t find the kind of job he wants (in broadcasting) he “would settle for some sort of pee on job.” I think a peon usually endures a certain lack of respect, as does a person someone would pee on, so my friend’s error actually makes sense.

Re: peon -> pee on

Just saw this in a motorcycle group, where someone said he wouldn’t join an outlaw club because he refuses to be a pee on for people. Yes. It makes sense … if you’ve never see the word “peon” in print. “I won’t be a pee on and I’m damned if I’ll be a sissy and read books either!”
