little nougats of wisdom

Yesterday as I was cleaning the kitchen I realized that in the process of raising two kids I’ve learned some really valuable shortcuts when it comes to getting through the day. And that I’ve been keeping these delicious little nougats of wisdom from you.

Think of your educational journey so far. You’ve attended school, possibly gone to university and now working in or with schools (apart from the small contingent of Italian fish and chip shop owners who read this). During this time, you have picked up little nougats of valuable information on a daily basis, which has developed your own expertise in education.

There’s loads to do in Killaloe especially if you’re a fan of the water – you can get stuck in @ulsportsadventurecentre nearby or book yourself a trip on the Spirit of Killaloe; you can try paddle boarding or fly fishing; sailing or hillwalking; or just catch up on the little nougats of history about Killaloe and its neighbouring village of Ballina.

I realize that virtually everything those people make is propaganda in some form, but at the same time I like to pick out the little nougats of gold that hide here-and-there inside, and display it for the sake of argument and/or inspiration.

The use of nugget for nougat is in the Database, listed as questionable in the form of “chewy nuggets”. That makes “little nougats of wisdom” the round-tripper.

Nougats of information brings to mind one of my favourite eggcorns, timbits for tidbits.

Re: little nougats of wisdom

I love it! Such succulent little timbits! (snipbits and “snip its” or snipits , to be sure, too.)
.
I wonder for how many English speakers nowadays, nugget means primarily or even exclusively, “little bit of food” (as in “chicken nuggets”) rather than “little bit of concentrated mineral, esp. gold or silver”.

Re: little nougats of wisdom

Stopped in at a Tim Horton’s last week. A little sign on the floor said that I had to stay “46 timbits” away from the person ahead of me. Influenced by “cubit,” I wonder?
