idiotsyncrasy

I recently came across eggcorns in an article in New Scientist magazine and this word came to mind immediately. I first heard it used by a coworker at coffee break about fifteen years ago and it has become part of my vocabulary. I find it much more descriptive than the original word idiosyncrasy from which it is derived.
