Find Tooth

fine toothed >> find tooth
Chiefly in find tooth comb, and find tooth saw
Classification: English – final d/t -deletion

I have used this eggcorn myself, and people seem to use it frequently. Google shows seven pages for “find tooth comb”. The following are an amusing selection.

http://www.conwayclinic.com/performance.htm
“We go through your body like a find tooth comb to find the areas that is causing you not to reach your true potential. Dr. Conway has been researching and studying sports performance techniques from all over the world. ”

Cuts can easily be made by either hand or power sawing. Always use a find tooth saw whether hand or power.

It would be grate to find a dental example for this eggcorn. I hope that does make you grin your teeth, otherwise you might need that comb to find the bits.

My monica is my own personal eggcorn – well salt of. I was asked to write my name at school when I was five. I wrote Billy William. I was disappointed when I was told Billy was just a nickname for William. So I lost one of my names at an early age, a gained an interest in words.
