A “manicure” is fingernail care: trimming and polishing. One also speaks of lawns being “manicured” in the sense of being neatly trimed. The proposed eggcorn “mancured” derives from two elements: man + cured. “Man” is being used in the same sense as (in) “man-made”—activity undertaken by man, in general. “Cured” conveys the final state of something that needed fixing (...must have been really bad at the outset to have been “cured!”)

The first example captures a modified (eggcorn?) sense of mancured. For a person from a preservation society is quite aware of “curing” or chemical processing of something for keeping or use.
