Seen recently in a newspaper column stating that flu shots are not “full proof” – could they be less than that – like 86 proof? What fulls these mortals be. Google it and find a “full proof recipe”. Usage is on the rise, apparently

It almost makes more sense than foolproof. I mean, you might say foolproof, but have you tested it against every possible fool? Full proof, as you imply, brings the usage from the alchohol percentage in whisky. What could be stronger than full proof?
