'devil make care' for 'devil may care'

The meaning is a little obscure, but it seems to be roughly opposite that of the original. About 200 ghits:

Louis Jourdan is equally effective, as the debonair, devil-make-care, playboy,
man of the world, pianist, who realizes too late, what has been going on.

He still has his boyish smile and that devil make care in his eyes.

My wife is a devil-make-care nut and my old man is getting older.

He had experienced the horrors of war and they had transformed him from the devil make care miscreant of his schoolboy days to a somber, sad person.

It was a winning devil make care attitude and a bottle rocket war on the Fourth
of July all in one.
