"Pneumonic" for "mnemonic"

I read this just now in someone’s description of her attempt at a memory exercise: “I have used pneumonic devices before but this was different.”

This one’s been popular—Magpie, Hane and Seingault have all noted it in the past. I suspect it’s a malapropism rather than an eggcorn, but Seingault’s post is a bit interesting in this regard because s/he buttonholed people about what they meant by it:
