I used this name for my favorite cheese when I was about 4, and I guess it wouldn’t be an eggcorn for others, because there wouldn’t be any imagery behind it… but there was for me.
As it turned out I was confused. I’d heard my mom refer to muenster cheese, and had eaten it, but I thought she was using that name for another cheese. Turns out my favorite cheese was actually called “swiss.” To me, it was obviously moonster cheese, what with all of those craters in it.
(and then there was my age 4 liverwurst story…)
