Making ends meat...from Chicago's The Mix Radio Morning Show, Melissa

The Eric and Kathy morning morning radio talk show in Chicago (http://www.wtmx.com/) recently spent days laughing about the mistake in this expression…their own Melissa believed the phrase to mean that you couldn’t afford the best “ends of meat” at the butcher. I could understand the mistake since she may never have seen the “making ends meet” expression, but was shocked by her continued defense of using “meat”, and I was amused that so many Chicagoland listeners actually called in to say that they, too, thought it was “meat”. I couldn’t resist sharing—hope this makes the database!
