People seem to gravitate towards spelling pejorative this way, or as perjorative. This is probably because the relation to the Latin word peior meaning worse is opaque, and people then reform the word in the image of a more familiar word, perjure.

It’s certainly an oft-misspelled word. As you say perjure/perjury is a much more commonly known word form.
