"nerve raking" for "nervewracking"

Yeah, honest to God, as in a “rake”. My daughter heard it today and there are 2900 ghits for it. I suppose the imagery could be that of a rake, grating on someone’s nerves, or some sort of reference to being “raked across the coals”- which certainly could wrack someone’s nerves.

Interesting that it is similar to previous posts concerning “wracked my brains”, because “brain raking” only turned up a few hundred hits. I think that the rake analogy is particular to nerves because the imagery better fits the idea.
