"Draw" for "Drawer"

I keep seeing this in furniture ads on Craig’s list, etc. People are writing “Draw” instead of “Drawers” as in “Chest of Drawers”

“Solid Dresser – $50

This is a nine drawer dresser. As you can see it has three draws, two doors (inside is three draws) and another three draws. Two mirrors. Perfect for storage.”

Now, this is in New Orleans, where we have a lot of interesting accents, so it could be a case of dropped “R”s, but you do Draw open a drawer, right? Maybe?

Groan. I was about to post this and decided to search New Orleans Craig’s list for “Dresser Draw” and got one other hit – this one for a “Chester Draw”

“I have a set that is brand new. it has sleigh bed, 1 night stand, dresser and mirror, and 5 chester draw. The color is cherry. Please email me for any question. Can delivery in the city. Here is a link to where you can see exactly what I have, thanks for viewing ”

Re: "Draw" for "Drawer"

Okay, I googled “Chester Draws” and got 1790 hits but some of them were unrelated – however I’m seeing ones that refer to “Chester Draws” in New Jersey, England, Australia, New Zealand… At least it’s not just New Orleans.

Chester Draws + sale gets 440 ghits
Chester Draws + solid gets 391 ghits
