'the arch of history' for 'the arc of history'

Since ‘arc’ and ‘arch’ derive from the same latin word, this would be a dubious eggcorn that I usually wouldn’t bother with. What makes it more interesting is that arches are erected to commemorate great events, and so have an extra connection to the concept of ‘history.’ Also, it’s very common- 16k vs. 11k ghits:
