'a blink on the radar' for 'a blip on the radar'

A sequel to ‘blimp…’ About 150 ghits, e.g.:

“It’s just that the things that would have bothered me ten years ago wouldn’t be a blink on the radar screen now.”
books.google.com/books?isbn=059530091X

“Ten years ago, India didn’t register a blink on the radar of western companies.

If you take the ratio of successful installations to problems, these are only a blink on the radar screen.

I don’t think that the past 100 years of data is even a blink on the radar.

Re: 'a blink on the radar' for 'a blip on the radar'

Maybe I’m too accepting, but blink makes eggcorn sense to me. It’s as brief as possible of a moment to notice something.

Not to start an endless merry-go-round, but I did find 1 hit for “mere blink on the radar”. I think the occurance helps point the way back to its origin of “mere blip”.
