blunder-busting

There are a small number of Web hits for ‘blunder-busting’ (variously separated, hyphenated, or fused). I’ve never even seen ‘blunderbuss’ used as a verb, but it can be, and this is obviously a reanalysis of it that makes perfect sense. Examples:

There seems to be rampant idiocy running through the outdoor industry these days as indicated by this image sent to us by our blunder-busting brand bluecoat, Bucky Turco.

it would hasten the re-affirmation of HRH Phillip’s blunder-busting integrity

The LA(ughable) Times strikes again, trying to confuse immigrants with illegal aliens in their support of the blunderbusting Bustamante.

The Hulk voiced by Eric Bana bashes and crashes more than Hercules, blunderbusting his way through the script.

Re: blunder-busting

Most of these seem to be using it as a synonym for blundering, which given my understanding of blunderbussing would seem to indicate that it isn’t a semantic change. Blunderbuss isn’t a very common word even as a noun.
