"tendernitis" for tendonitis

“My mother has had tendernitis in her foot for about six weeks.”
http://medical.justanswer.com/doctor/n8 … s-foot-six

“Has anyone ever heard of tendernitis in the back or hip?”
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index … 734AAWqJyJ

3740 google hits, appears to be pretty common. The new imagery is fairly obvious.

Re: "tendernitis" for tendonitis

Good one. You get a few dozen more hits if you look for “tenderitis” (i.e., without the “n”).

Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.
