The database already contains ‘up to stuff.’ This new reshaping is possibly influenced by the idioms ‘passing the smell test’ or ‘passing the sniff test.’ Uncommon. Examples:

Interesting one. Susceptible to analysis as a typo, “u” and “i” being next to each other on the qwerty keyboard. With 830K ghits on “up to snuff”, a few such typos might be expected. Still, cute, and likely not all were typos.
