"Sea-section" for caesarian section

Humans carry the ancestral sea within them, and babies are aquatic before they’re born. Is this why some interpret a caesarian, or c-section, as a “sea-section”? The waters are parted and the infant is pulled to dry land? I’ve chosen the examples that make explicit connections to waters breaking and the birth canal.

so finally my sister had the baby..her water broke at 1:15 this morning…and me and my mom went down around 3am…around 6 the baby’s heart rate was goin down really fast because of the medication, but they stabilized the baby..and went in for emergency sea-section…. (http://www.civicforums.com/forums/31-ca … i-500.html)

oh by the way, kathy is about to have her baby…her water broke at about 3:00 she should be having her sea-section soon. (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu … D=84179090)

When I was little I asked my mom how I got out of her stomach and she told me she had a C-section. I didn’t understand what that was, and I thought she meant sea section. So until I was about 9, when I found out the true meaning, I thought I was born on a ship. (http://www.iusedtobelieve.com/sex/givin … rth_s2.php)

Both children were born sea-section style because if the baby passes through the birth canal, it would also contract the disease. (http://flickerthewitch.tripod.com/enchant/id3.html)

I told the lady who has the mom to go to the vet and get a sea section because if she just leaves the puppies in the birth canal they are going to die (http://www.dogster.com/forums/Choosing_ … d/381671/1)

Re: "Sea-section" for caesarian section

Perhaps the eggcorners are thinking that a “sea-section” is some kind of emergency procedure that might have to be performed at sea because a regular maternity ward was not available.

Another variant also appears with some regularity is “seesection.” The image may be that of an incision allowing the doctor to “see” into the womb (a place that is, as I recall, somewhat underlighted).

Fantasy bulletin board comment: “Not to be mean but,did she have a seesection bacause it looks like she has stiches on her stomach, other wise i luv it”

Fan comment on BBKing website: “whats awesome is my mom got to pick the date of my birth because she had to have a seesection with me”

Facebook group site post: “My neighbor, Angelia, went into early labor, about 1 month early, and she had to have a seesection.”

Re: "Sea-section" for caesarian section

Delightful. An ultrasound scan is like a see-section, too. I liked your earlier explanation for an “at sea section”. Now that I reread the examples for “sea section” I’m struck by the connection made in the last two between the sea section and the birth canal.
