Dazzled by klakritz’ entry on old sore/old saw, I went looking for other ways that the saw »« sore connection might be made. Many were malaprops, but I think eyesaw for eye soar has promise. From the looks of these, they hail from places where saw and sore are near or full homophones.

An astoundingly common eggcorn. It could be coined anew at any time, especially by r-droppers, but one suspects that “eyesaw” is being carried along as a standard by a significant community of speakers.
Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.
