'Korean' for 'Corian'

‘Corian’ is the tradename for “an advanced blend of natural minerals and acrylic polymer” used to make expensive bathroom and kitchenware like washbasins, sinks and countertops. ‘Korean’ is a far more familiar word and it is understandable that “Korean countertop” for example, might be bracketed with the likes of “Italian marble’, ‘Irish linen’ or ‘Turkish Delight’ to name but three. It is possible, I suppose, that Du Pont have a factory in Korea making Korean Corian but I feel it is, sadly, unlikely:

Cherry cabinets, Korean countertops, top of the line appliances that will stay and ceramic floor and backsplash. The marble bath is absolutely stunning! ...

... integrated Neff oven and grill, blue glass splashbacks, Korean worktop, under unit downlighting, wiring for ceiling lighting, Italian limestone floor …

Too funny.

A Carrion countertop doesn’t sound very appetizing.
