This is thanks to Dr dave the hat, who noted the word “deftifying” in CatherineR’s Tone death thread.
While this may be a malapropism, it seems somewhat eggcorn-like. At least some of these users seem to blend deft completion of death defying acts.

I can’t quite tell if the co-occurrence of “musical depreciation” and “deftifying heights” indicates self-conscious reshaping, or serial malapropism.
