whole heartily for whole heartedly

I guarantee that if the shoe were on the other foot, and the Republicans were whole heartily for health care reform, and they had a Rep. president and a Rep. majority in Congress (before the Mass election), healthcare reform would have already been passed.

Re: whole heartily for whole heartedly

I’m going to venture an opinion: It’s an interesting reshaping but both have “heart” at their centre, with a similar meaning.

I wonder if anybody who writes “hole heartedly” thinks it means ” feeling like there’s something missing, or they’ve been wounded, in the heart”. Probably not.
