"techno-color" for technicolor

Spotted at ”Pretty Highlighters” at Shelley’s Case

Source text follows———————————-
I love BarBri, not because it offers final exam tutorials. No, that’s beside the point (in fact, a few profs even warned us to avoid BarBri so not to be confused during the final exam). I love BarBri more than just its free mints, free pens, free water bottles… I love BarBri because it offers me free highlighters. In techno-color. They’re so chubby and colorful. ———————————Emphasis added

I find 29k Ghits for technocolor, including a did you mean suggestion for technicolor. Technicolor gets 8.8M Ghits. Many of the misspellings appear in the context “Joseph & the T. Dreamcoat”.

My analysis of the reinterpretation was that Techni- was interpreted as incorrect (despite words like Technical and Technician) and the more common prefix Techno, as in the music genre, was substituted. The unstressed vowel surely helps make the spelling ambiguous.
