"debtit" and "debted" cards

Debit cards have been around for 35 years or so. “Debit” oozes Latin; in fact, it comes from one of those words that were originally straightforward in spelling, the M.E. dette, for which the clock was turned backwards to imitate the Latin roots in the 15th c. “Debtit” substitutes the portmanteau of “debt it” for the noun modifier, so although the meaning is the same, the “it” has been neatly reinterpreted.

A “debted card” would be a more appropriate name for the credit card.

These would mostly have to be visual eggcorns if they are eggcorns. Or do these people pronounce the b in debt ? Debted card almost works for me, though.
