're-found' for 'refund'

I work on the administrative side of a university preparation program for international students. I have received more than one email asking about a ‘re-found’ when they are eligible for a refund of some of their tuition fees. Makes sense, really… You lost some money and later you re-found it. :-)

Excellent.

I see a lot of examples of this eggcorn on the web. See Google searches here and here. Many of the substitutions appear to come from people using English as a second language.
