"reutterate" for "reiterate"

If you reiterate something, you utter it for the second time. This may be a South Asian regionalism, but there just aren’t enough instances to say so for sure. Examples:

Ms, Butto reutterated those sentiments again and was hopeful that she could return back to Pakistan to reestablish her party and free election in her country

After I heard that Padre Pio believed in the apparitions of Garabandal and the miracle of the Eucharist, I couldn’t help believe it and yes I think Garabandal reutterates Fatima. http://traditionalcatholicnetwork.ning. … licnetwork

As i’m sure many know but it’s seldom talked about so i think it’s worth reutterating… Evan came up and competed in MMA and the UFC during a very difficult time for pro fighters…

Delicious! This one is wonderful. I also like the corollary that the first time through it was utterated. I don’t know if the following is an instance, however, there are multiple examples on the web of utteration from elsewhere in the world, so the base for “reutteration” is there.

South Asian ESL help board
I know much about English grammer . But when i speak it sound terrible and i can’t keep flow my speak to long extend.
I heard about utteration in language may make help to gain fluency. And also heard about fluency nuclears should be gain by practising some exercise.

I presume that’s nucleus but “fluency nuclears” sounds like an amazing power source. For some reason I can’t help thinking about the song Maybelline: As I was motivatin’ over the hill, I saw Maybelline in a coupe de ville. I always wondered whether Chuck was motivating or motorvating.

Re: "reutterate" for "reiterate"

There are more examples of the eggcorn under the misspelling “reuterate, reuterating, reuterated” (Perhaps “misspelling” isn’t quite the right word. Can a fabricated word be misspelled?) All in all, I see at least twenty or thirty examples of this “reiteration” permutation-sufficient to enshrine the eggcorn, I think.

Re: "reutterate" for "reiterate"

Misspelling looks like the right word for “reuterate”, with u right there beside the i on the quirky keyboard. At least I hope it’s just misspelled. Otherwise the word would appear to describe a surgical intervention (the reverse of “neuterate”, for females), or maybe “to give journalistic spin”.

A more abundant variant that might be intentional is reliterate. Can it be being used in the sense of “spell out once more”? It might also be a blend, of relate and reiterate. Fairly common.

Tattoo regrets
they do not come off, and it sounds silly to reliterate that, but from personal experiance I am sad to say I wish I HAD listened to my mum! frown

Re: "reutterate" for "reiterate"

Reliterate is cool – it should probably have a post of its own.

And then there’s “reenterate.” Maybe the idea is that you’re entering into a subject a second time? 72 ughits, though as Peter would point out, lots of them aren’t really unique. Examples:

What I want to reenterate is “the quality of your content matters as to how your business is perceived.”
http://video-commerce.org/2009/02/strat … e-content/

I’ve commented on the biological agents in a thread with Spectacles and I will reenterate one point I made then.

Well untill I see the episode I cant really coment on Robins actions, but I will reenterate that they are teenagers and teens tend to be a little moody and depressd from time to time.
