'take the blunt of' for 'take the brunt of'

We’ve already seen ‘take the grunt of.’ This one is surprisingly common- 9,000 ghits- and is probably influenced by ‘blunt object’ and ‘blunt injury.’

here , including “bear the blunt”. This was, if I remember right, the first time the (quite useful, I think) idea of a “large fuzzy spot” was bruted/bruited/blunted/brunted about.

This was, if I remember right, the first time the (quite useful, I think) idea of a “large fuzzy spot” was bruted/bruited/blunted/brunted about.
