Welcome to the forum, Theodore. An interesting find. Do you think there is any logic for the switch between “code” and “cold”? An eggcorn substitution needs to make some degree of sense. I’m wondering whether the idea of doing something “cold”—abruptly, unprepared, on the spur of the moment—might be involved here.
