Reasonably eggcornish, to my mind, given that those involving grammatical entries are sometimes not all that spectacular. Still, in the acorn, the ill, aged or handicapped person is assisted in the process of living (or perhaps the process is assisted along?); in the eggcorn that person is helped by an assistant, whose role in the process is thus highlighted. The last two examples listed have the word “assistant†in the immediate context (and thus the assisting person and his/her role is already highlighted).
