'crunch of the matter' for 'crux of the matter'

The database already has ‘crutch of the matter,’ annotated by Ben Zimmer. This is perhaps more eggcornish, as ‘crunch,’ like ‘crux,’ suggests the essence or core of a problem- as in the idiom ‘crunch time.’ Examples:
