Saw this in a headline, but then realized it was just a pun because of a lighting-related issue in the story. (Is there a full time position at newspapers for “punny headline writer?”
A google search only turns up a couple of other intentional uses as puns, so not a genuine eggcorn… but doggone it, it’s PERFECT! I can’t believe people aren’t actually getting this wrong somewhere!
