We’ve had posts on “wrestle control” in place of “wrest control” before, but other variations make sense too. For instance, one might consider having control after making an arrest, or one might consider things coming to rest after taking control.

I see that ‘wrest’ and ‘wrist’ are etymological buddies. Both are linked to the idea of ‘twist’.
