My guess is that the existence of expressions like “do or die” and “whole-hearted” make some people think that “diehard” should be “die heart.”
” If you don’t get mad when someone talks about your favorite sports team you are not a real die heart fan!”

” As a real die heart frihoster, you should know that we value people upon their way of posting.”

“Thanks for the great pictures, forget about big high rise building in big city..this is a real die heart Iranian which I am so proud of. ”

“If you are a die heart Star Wars fan you must read (or listen to) this.”

“Die-heart Republican”

“Dedicated to my die heart Republican friends.”

“Compare to me i am a dieheart fan of enrique an’t you?”

Then there’s “died in the wool”:
“Prysner also ran for public office, Florida, I think on the ballot for the Party for Socialism and Liberty and he’s a died-in-the-wool socialist.”
