A word nerd blogger heard “exaggerbate” at work. A conflation, I assume, of “exaggerate” and “exacerbate.” There are a few other examples on the web:

Nutrition/medicine site: “I always am weary of new drugs, as they can exaggerbate IBS”

Depression forum: “And yes, some medications can exaggerbate this phenomena. ”

Another medical discussion: “it will just exaggerbate and start bleeding and stuff till the point whereby my steriod cream don’t help”

Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.

Re: exaggerbate

Ha! Will wonders never cease. Exeggerated.

(I tried to see if anyone has made a three-way blend with exasperated. Mercifully, no go.)
