I tried to isolate only those cases that, from the context, appear genuine and innocent. Many are from newspaper or news commment sections. At least some of them come from Australia where I suspect that bugger has come to mean simply ‘ruin’ or ‘destroy’ or ‘confuse’ for some, and its other meaning is probably unknown.
