"loose fuse"

Jude Law plays DOM HEMINGWAY, a larger-than-life safecracker with a loose fuse who is funny, profane, and dangerous.

Not an eggcorn, of course, but an amusing blended phrase. There is such a thing as a loose fuse, but that image doesn’t convey the meaning the writer apparently meant—“loose cannon”, “short fuse”, or some blend thereof. I’m sure I’ve heard other phrases in which one word was accidentally substituted for another, but can’t call any other examples to mind offhand.
