Aerial/aureola < areola

This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureola.

That one seems to be a blend of “areola” with “aura” or even with “aurora” (“areola” for “aurora” has been mentioned in the Eggcorn Forum before). There’s the potential for eggcornish meaning-confusion among all three of those words.

I have for over 12 months now had a right itchy breast. It starts on the skin next to aerial and it very intense.

It’s harder to imagine an eggcornish meaning-connection between “areola” and “aerial”—unless people are confused by the protuberant nature of the nipple which is at the center of the areola.

Bringing this one up for more love. Aureola is so natural that it might pass without notice, but it’s a beautiful eggcorn. Small halo instead of small area. Aerials might go on my best of the year list.

Some men like to twist breasts as if they were radio knobs, so maybe this isn’t such a stretch.

What kind of reception do you get on those things?

A good reception if I don’t twist too hard.
