I went in search of the simbling outster and lowing behold: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/forum/view … p?id=2703. Has affinities with holdster. Upholdster is the original, from uphold, to stuff a sagging sofa!

I’m flabbergasted that there is no connection between “out” and “ouster.” The former is AS, latter is Latin.
