'lolled' for 'lulled' (to sleep)

I suppose if you lolled long enough there’s a good chance you might drop off, but I suspect this may be further evidence of the growing u-avoidance I sometimes rattle on about.

A pair of flounders. The OED suggests these two onomatopoetic words may have been floundering around each other for some time.
