There are even brands of tape now called Duck Tape. It’s supposed to be used in taping duct-work, Correct?

Re: Duck Tape vs Duct Tape

At the top left of this (or any other Forum page) is a link to the Eggcorn Database. Click on it and in the right-hand column of the page that comes up are a couple of search-engine boxes. Use the second of those, the google site search —that seems to get (and thus give :) ) the best results. Then you can see what all has already been said (if anything) about any potential eggcorn or other blooper you are interested in. (It helps to think a bit about how to word the search so as not to overlook other grammatical forms of the same thing, etc.)

Re: Duck Tape vs Duct Tape

Pat Schweiterman gives a good discussion of this one here . It’s not so clear which is the duck and which is the egg.
