manner vs manor

To the manor born vs to the manner born. I’ve seen this both ways: born to the manner (of nobility) or born to a noble manor.

This eggcorn is so perfect and longlived that Webster’s Dictionary considers both spellings to be standard, according to Pat, the administrator of this forum. You might enjoy the database entry here.
