In BrE I have heard the word pronounced ‘lax…’ a couple of times recently. This strikes me as a possible eggcorn, since the meaning of ‘lackadaisical’ involves some laxness, not caring, not being stringent.
In the corpora I’ve searched it is very rare as a spelling. I wonder if others have noticed it, and what their views are.

Hey, Jem,
Welcome to the forum!
.
It’s a good one, and like many good ones, has been discussed before, e.g. here . It is good to get confirmation that it is still popping up in spoken language as well as in writing.
.
It works to go to the eggcorn database home page (not this forum’s homepage) and enter a search in the second search box there (the google search). It’s a good idea to look for both the “acorn†(the standard word or phrase) and the “eggcornâ€; in this case look for both lackadaisical and laxadaisical , and, if you think of it, lacksadaisical while you’re at it. Try it, and you’ll find several links besides the one referenced above.

Thanks, David
...for the clarification. I had tried to check if it was already in, but clearly didn’t perform the correct search.
Anyway, interesting that it has been around for years, and spotted long ago by you veteran eggcornistas!
Cheers, Jem.
