Billows are the surging waves of the sea. The same PIE root gave us bulges and bellies (yesterday was Thanksiving day here in Canada). The shift of imagery from billows to pillows is so natural that I’m surprised we haven’t spotted this one before.
So, today I hit the gas a little hard and my 2008 2.0 A4 went up to about 5500 RPMs, at this time white smoke pillowed out of the rear
