"intice" for "entice"

While this is all well and good, it’s not very inticing.

I have always been inticed by the blackberry line of phones. How they could do everything, browse the web, IM, Email and so on.
phone review

“Intice” is an obsolete version of “entice”, but I suspect that few if any of those using the word nowadays know that. Just a misspelling, or an eggcorn in some cases? “Entice” means to draw someone in, so *in*tice would seem to have an eggcornish meaning-connection.

Re: "intice" for "entice"

Metatheses (of which your eggcronsih is a nice double example) fastenate me. I wonder if people mix up incite to get intice .

(Surely incite occurs as a malapropism for entice . I am quite sure I have seen it written so, though I did not find an example right away. There are many environments where both could fit, e.g.

The devil, on the other hand, knows how to incite us to break covenants with his diabolical charm. He seduced Eve with a lie.

*If the human mind were simple enough for us to understand,
we would be too simple-minded to understand it* .

(Possible Corollary: it is, and we are .)
