'paradise shift' for 'paradigm shift'

Originally a technical term describing an often painful move from one conceptual framework to a new one based on improved knowledge and understanding, paradigm shift is sometimes bandied about by folk keen to use it for even relatively insignificant changes. The ear of a listener unfamiliar with the word ‘paradigm’ might substitute one they know well, reflecting in this case an improbably enhanced improvement.
